Practical tips for casting and being cast safely, from communication to payments and recognizing fraud.
Last updated: July 2026
1. Communicating safely on the platform
Preferably use iCasting's chat feature for your first contact moments with a client or talent. This way, there is always a record of your conversation, which is helpful should any uncertainty arise later. Be cautious about sharing sensitive personal information, such as your home address or bank details, before you have been able to properly assess a job and the other party.
Preferably agree on concrete arrangements in writing: what the job involves, where and when it takes place, and what compensation has been agreed. This prevents misunderstandings and provides a point of reference in case of any problems afterwards.
2. Payments only via the platform or agreed in writing
Payments for iCasting's own services, such as subscriptions, always run through our secure payment providers. Fees for a casting job between client and talent are agreed between themselves and are arranged outside the platform.
Be extra careful when a client asks you to transfer money in advance, for example for "material costs" or an "administrative fee" before a job has been carried out. Reliable clients normally do not ask for this. Never transfer money to someone you cannot verify.
3. Warning signs of fraud
Watch out for the following signs that may indicate a dishonest client or talent:
- A job that pays unusually well for little clear effort.
- Requests to communicate quickly, outside the platform, and without clear agreements.
- Requests to transfer money before a job has been carried out.
- A profile without clear photos, history, or verifiable business information.
- Pressure to quickly share personal or sensitive information.
Do you have doubts about the integrity of a user? Do not take any irreversible steps and report it via our Report Abuse page.
4. Tips for minor talent and their parents or guardians
Extra points of attention apply to minor talent. We advise parents and guardians to:
- manage their child's profile together with them and regularly check what information is visible;
- always be present at first meetings, castings, or recordings with a new client;
- agree on compensation and working hours in writing in advance, in line with applicable rules on child labor in the creative sector;
- never share their child's personal contact details without first checking and supervising this themselves.
iCasting continuously works to keep the platform safe, but the vigilance of parents and guardians remains essential when it comes to minor talent.
5. Something to report?
